A seven-seater that looks and feels more like a sports model, the 2023 Mazda CX-9 is a beautifully crafted premium vehicle, with a lot of substance to its deluxe style. Read on to find out more about Mazda’s three-row midsize crossover SUV.

Your Guide to the 2023 Mazda CX-9

Sporty Practicality

Rather than settle for the boxy shape of many seven-seater vehicles, Mazda has endeavored to integrate the pragmatic features of the CX-9 into a streamlined and elegant vehicle. The larger wheelbase is complemented by a long hood and short overhangs for an overall suggestion of athleticism and power, while retaining 71.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front row.

High Torque, Low Revs

The Skyactiv-G 2.5T turbo four-cylinder engine featured in the CX-9 demonstrates more of the same innovative engineering. With this powertrain, Mazda has opted for quiet power rather than outright brute strength, ensuring that the 310lb-ft torque output is available at 2,000 revs. This means smoother and more consistent drivability, ideal for city journeys.

Producing 227hp and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual and sports modes, all CX-9 models feature off-road traction assist. Meanwhile, the i-Activ four-wheel drive system uses 27 sensors to adjust power and shift weight in response to minute changes in the road surface.

High-Quality Materials

The craftsmanship of the CX-9 extends to the interior, with the highest-quality materials used to produce a timeless design. Heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel come standard, as does the power moonroof. From genuine Nappa leather seating as standard, to the higher placement of the gear stick and console to emphasize comfort, the CX-9 feels luxurious to drive.

The 10.25-inch color infotainment system is integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity. The CX-9 also offers dual USB ports on the front and second row, three-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system, rearview camera, and auto-dimming rearview mirrors.

Thoughtful Trim Levels

There are five CX-9 models available, from the base model Touring to the top-of-the-range Signature trim. The Touring Plus seats seven passengers and offers a power driver’s seat with memory and a gloss black front grille. The six-seater Carbon Edition features heated second-row captain’s seats, heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a 7-inch LCD display gauge alongside its distinctive Polymetal Grey exterior with red leather seating.

Opting for the Grand Touring model means that you’ll have access to the 360-degree view monitor and active driving display, while the Signature trim features larger dual exhaust pipes and unique accents on the stitching and piping.

With so many quality features, the best way to appreciate the beauty of the CX-9 is to meet it in person. Contact us at Royal Moore Mazda to arrange a test-drive or to find out more from our friendly and knowledgeable sales team.
