Do you enjoy locally-owned coffee shops with fresh brews? Here are five of the best places to go for coffee and espresso drinks near Hillsboro, OR! Skip the chain stores, and visit some of the amazing establishments that call our community “home.”

1. Longbottom Coffee & Tea

Longbottom has been an integral part of the Hillsboro community since 1981. Located inside a commercial building at 4893 NE 59th Ave, you don’t want to miss this aromatic hot spot. Longbottom is a quality roaster. Their hot-air roasted coffees are hand-crafted from organic Arabica beans.

Stop in for a fresh cup of joe or a specialty beverage. We recommend the “pecan, sticky buns” flavor.  You can take your coffee to go, or pull up a seat and stay for a good meal. You can even pick up a bag of Longbottom coffee to brew at home. You’ll be glad you did. This coffeehouse features a spacious sun-lit dining area, an all-day breakfast, and a gift shop!

2. Bella Sorelle

This adorable little coffee house is a family-owned small business found in the parking lot at 3385 NE 15th Ave. They offer a full menu of coffees and specialty drinks. We love the “turtle mocha.” Bella Sorelle uses Longbottom’s fresh & delicious roasts to create coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, and more. They feature specialty flavors that change, so stop by to see what’s on the menu today!

Use their drive-thru option if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your Mazda MX 5 Miata, the sports car with removable cupholders. The MX 5 gives you room for your beverages without sacrificing space.

3. BJ’s Coffee Co

This family-run company is right next door to Hillsboro, at 2834 Pacific Ave, Suite C, in Forest Grove. They feature a full coffee menu, including java milkshakes (available seasonally). Their coffee and espresso drinks can come in iced versions, ideal for hot summer days. For those who like their coffee sweet, BJ’s has 31 flavor choices, plus 13 sugar-free options!

BJ’s has a complete lunch and all-day breakfast menu. They are open every day (except Christmas and Thanksgiving) until 3 pm. Check out their whole bean menu and gift items, so you don’t go home empty-handed!

4. Telvet Coffee

At Telvet, you can enjoy fresh coffee in a cozy setting on a quiet street. This coffee shop is inside a historic house at 1928 Cedar St. in Forest Grove. Telvet features espresso drinks, coffee, cold brews, bubble tea, and more. There are various seating areas, including upstairs and on the porch.

This brew house is open until 7 pm Mon-Sat, and 5 pm on Sundays. They offer an array of desserts to pair with your coffee. Breakfast is available until noon each day.

In May 2023, a new coffee spot named “Cabana do Cafe” is preparing to open up at 320 SE Baseline St. They will offer Brazilian-inspired coffee and pastries, complete with an espresso bar and a full coffee menu. We can’t wait to check it out!
